Vancouver Sands

One day while walking along Kitsilano beach for a picnic on a particularly windy day, some children were kicking sand and chasing each other around. As we looked across the beach their figures became obscured by light as if they were walking in some heavenly landscape. In this painting four people capture the moment, walking through the drifting sand towards the light – an older couple and two young lovers.
