At the Bridge Studio Crawl the Glass jar was full of completed slips with many people giving their paper an extra fold for luck! Last night the Winner claimed her framed, Giclée Print on canvas of ‘Visions of Metchosin’. (See Below)
The Visions of Metchosin’ Prints on Canvas have been very popular, and I created a 30 x 30 inch print recently, the same size as the original painting. I work with a photographer to match the colours exactly and create an image which is extremely high resolution across the surface of the canvas. This image is then taken to the printer who makes the printable image on screen, in order to create a wrap-around Gallery-Wrapped canvas on a wooden stretcher. I transport the original painting there to once more balance the colours and confirm the final, printable image.
It is a long and complicated process but worth the effort when the final result is so close to the original artwork that the brushstrokes on the grain of the canvas are visible, and the colour-match perfect.
